They say the eyes are the window to the soul. I believe that. Eyes hold truth. They give us away when we’re trying to seem fine. They connect us to each other in ways words can’t. They reflect who we are and speak before we do.
I created these eye pieces while I was still processing all that I had seen. and all that had seen me. the city walls, the strangers on the street who felt familiar, the new friends, the art that made me cry without knowing why.
I looked at myself a little longer in the mirror. I paid attention to the way light hit a surface. to how I was feeling. to what I was afraid to admit.
These pieces hold that energy. of being witnessed. of following your intuition. of trusting what you see, inside and out. of really stopping to pay attention.
